Landscape & Animals
This Romanesque church once had a monastery attached to it, but is now a home and agriturismo with vineyards and olive groves. The church, on top of a hill overlooking the vast valley, has visible traces of the thousands of years that humans have occupied it. Sitting at the base of the walls in the afternoon sun was a religious experience in itself.
I painted this Romanesque church in Campriano twice in one day. I wanted to catch the change in the light and shadows.
I spotted this crow on the first really beautiful day of spring, when the sky and the budding leaves were almost unbelievable. I wanted to catch that sense of light and chroma, no pun intended.
