I live in a paradise. Every day is beautiful in a different way, except perhaps Mud Season. Of all of the many places I have lived, this is the one where I am the most at home, the most completely comfortable. Lucky every day! But only as long as it is cared for and protected. We are to be stewards of creation, not exploiters of creation.
Proceeds from the sale of wildlife and landscape paintings fund my financial support of Midcoast Conservancy, working to protect lands, water and all inhabitants from the headwaters of the Sheepscot, Damariscotta and Medomak Rivers to the sea. In particular, their visionary 30x30 Initiative for extensive connected lands.

In preparation for what I hoped would be a much larger painting, I started small to explore new territory for me - my first seascape, my first storm painting, my first triptych.
12" x 12" oil on board $675 I spotted this crow on the first really beautiful day of spring, when the sky and the budding leaves were almost unbelievable. I wanted to catch that sense of light and chroma, no pun intended.

SOLD - It took time to summon the courage to tackle this experience with paint & it needed to be big and ecclesiastical. I witnessed it from the doorway of a friend's family cottage. Their mantra, "I love you to the island and back" came to me as I thought of the two beloved people who had left us behind. The double rainbow appeared, shining down on the island and I knew.
